Stress-free health.
Amsterdam De Pijp
Do you feel tension in your body?
Perhaps this feels familiar: your body feels tense, uncomfortable or exhausted, while rest alone no longer brings relief.
Tension can then be a sign that your body needs help to recover.
Body Stress Release offers gentle support to release tension and allow natural healing to take place again — suitable for all ages.
When tension becomes stored in the body
Our bodies are designed to adapt to physical and emotional stress. Physical strain, emotional events and mental pressure are part of life and are normally processed and released naturally. However, when that strain continues for too long or becomes too intense, the body may no longer be able to regulate it fully.
At that point, tension can remain active in the body. Muscles stay unconsciously tightened, the nervous system has difficulty settling, and the natural recovery process becomes disrupted. This accumulated and stored tension in the body is what we call body stress. Over time, this can develop into chronic tension that the body is no longer able to release on its own.
Body stress is often not immediately visible, yet it can express itself through stress-related physical symptoms such as pain, stiffness, fatigue, headaches, restlessness or a persistent feeling of overload. It can feel as though the body is constantly “switched on,” without enough space for proper recovery and nervous system balance.
Body Stress Release focuses on recognising and gently releasing this built-up tension, allowing the body to move back towards balance and natural recovery. At Body Stress Release Today in Amsterdam, we support you with BSR, a gentle pressure technique that helps activate the body’s self-healing ability.

What is Body Stress?
“After my own experience with persistent physical complaints, I discovered the power of Body Stress Release. Today, I help clients release tension and regain their vitality. My approach is personal, calm and carefully attuned to your situation.”
What Is Body Stress Release (BSR)?
BSR helps your body to release musclar tension
Body Stress Release (BSR) supports the body in releasing stored muscular tension and calming an overstimulated nervous system. When stress or physical strain continues over time, tension can become stored in the body and develop into chronic tension. During a session, this tension is identified through the body’s natural biofeedback response, where a subtle reflex reaction indicates where stress-related tension is present.
Based on this response, light and precise impulses are applied to help the nervous system regulate and release tension. This allows the muscles to relax and creates space for natural recovery to take place. BSR works with gentle pressure, without force, manipulation or massage, and supports the body’s natural healing ability and nervous system balance.
Who is BSR suitable for?

BSR is suitable for all ages, from babies to seniors. Body Stress Release Today can offer support with:

What conditions can BSR help with?
The BSR Treatment Process
Recovery takes time
Fase 1 - The Reset
From symptoms to insight
We begin by getting to know each other and discussing your complaints, health history and life situation.
To give the recovery process a strong and sustainable boost, we schedule the first three Body Stress Release sessions within a fixed rhythm over two weeks. Preferably on day 1, day 4 and day 11. This creates a solid foundation for recovery and long-term muscular balance.
Fase 2 - The Rebuild
Towards recovery and balance
Your body’s response and your personal recovery process determine the pace and planning of the follow-up sessions. As recovery progresses and chronic tension decreases, more time is scheduled between sessions to support nervous system regulation and sustainable healing.
Fase 3 - Maintenance
Staying healty
Based on your personal needs and lifestyle, we determine what ongoing support may be helpful to maintain balance, healthy muscle tension and long-term nervous system stability.

How does a session work?
Conversation and treatment
A BSR Today session lasts approximately 60 minutes and takes place in three steps:
Step 1 – Check-in
We discuss your complaints, health and personal situation.Step 2 – Release treatment
During a Body Stress Release session (“release”), you lie fully clothed on a specialised BSR table. With light and precise impulses, the nervous system is stimulated, allowing the body to release stored tension naturally.Step 3 – Check-out
We discuss what has been observed and create a plan for follow-up sessions.
The first Body Stress Release session lasts longer due to the initial consultation and intake.

Who is Kristof?
Body Stress Release practitioner
I am Kristof van Oorsouw, a certified Body Stress Release practitioner, living in Amsterdam with my family. From a young age, I have been interested in people, health and personal development. This interest deepened during a world trip and took shape in my studies in Social Psychology (University of Amsterdam) and a Master’s degree in Appreciative Inquiry (Institute for Intervention Science), with a focus on working from what works.
After more than thirteen years as a coach and trainer, I noticed — in myself and in others — how easily tension builds up when we keep pushing forward. My introduction to Body Stress Release was personal and confronting, but above all clarifying: my body showed me how deeply stored tension can be released when it receives the right support.
This experience led me to spend several years exploring the body’s natural self-healing ability and to complete my training as a Body Stress Release practitioner at the Body Stress Release Academy in England.
Since then, I have been working as a certified BSR practitioner in my own welcoming practice in Amsterdam De Pijp, guiding people in a calm and attuned way in releasing tension, restoring balance and learning to listen more closely to their bodies.
